Sofia Hotel Statue Dedication
On July 21, Mayor Jerry Sanders, former Governor and Mayor Pete Wilson and many others celebrated the dedication of a permanent bronze statue honoring the redevelopment of the beautifully renovated Sofia Hotel and the three men who have played major roles in San Diego’s rebirth and urban redevelopment: Wilson, Jerry Trimble and the late Ernie Hahn. The statue, titled That-a-Way, features a man pointing to the entrance of the Sofia and holding a full-color copy of San Diego Magazine.
